Children Love Painting Outdoors

We enjoy doing lots of painting in our household. In fact I think Little N would paint continuously every day, all day long if she could.

She asked to do some painting today and I thought it would be a great idea to take the activity outdoors into the garden, Combining her two favourite things currently
-Outdoor Play
-Creative Play

Little N was really excited - bless her cottons!

We quickly set up and off she went. Straight in there with the stampers.
These are really great! I purchased them from ebay and have used them lots. Their prints are very effective and great for small hands!
She used her paint brush to spread paint all over the stampers.

Before deciding to use the paint brush on its on. She enjoyed doing strokes along the paper.

We then went for a walk around the garden and selected a few leaves and twigs that had already fallen to the ground. She was unsure about what to do at first so I demonstrated pressing the leaves into the paint and printing onto the paper.
She enjoyed rubbing the leaves to make sure the paint came off the leaf effectively.

- Fine Motor Skills
- Experimenting
- Exploring texture
- Confidence
- Cause and Effect

I am going to repeat this activity again. However this time I will do a woodland walk before hand and take Little N's small wicker basket and together we will collect some leaves, twigs and whatever else looks interesting.
