4th of July American Flag Suncatcher Craft

Celebrate the 4th of July by creating your very own American Flag suncatcher. They make great decorations and add some colour to your room!
To create your very own American Flag Suncatcher like ours you will need:
Laminating Pouches/Sticky Back Plastic
Laminator
White A4 Paper
Red and Blue Cellophane
Star Stickers
Sellotape
Cut out strips of white paper and place them in your laminating pouch/sticky back plastic. You will need some smaller strips for the top of your flag to allow for the blue rectangle in the top left hand corner.
Add your cellophane to create the American Flag. Little N was really good at this and enjoyed sprinkling them down onto the pouch.
Once she was finished I carefully laminated the flag. Little N carefully added star stickers to the blue section of the flag. This is great for developing fine motor skills and control.
I then used sellotape to stick the flag up onto the window. It's been a lovely, hot summers day today and the flag looked great against the blue sky!
Just for fun here are some facts about the American Flag:
- There is an American Flag on the moon, that was put there by Neil Armstrong in 1969 which was        the first time there had been a landing on the moon.
- The American Flag was first created in 1777
The 50 white stars represent the 50 states of America and symbolize honor, achievement and hope
The 13 stripes on the American Flag Facts represent the 13 original colonies
