Farm Animals Egg Craft

Farm Animals Egg Craft

Farm Animals Egg Craft

With Easter just around the corner now my news feeds on social media have been full of wonderful Easter/Spring Sensory Bins, Egg activities and lots of wonderful new books to accompany these set ups too! Leading up to Easter you have no doubt prepared lots of lovely crafts and activities for the children but what about after Easter? Suddenly you have hundreds of eggs. Eggs that the children have loved playing with over the last couple of weeks, it seems silly to pop them away until next year. So today I want to share with you a lovely way of using eggs on the build up to Easter and afterwards too.

The Little Red Hen Small World

The Little Red Hen Small World

The Little Red Hen Small World

My daughter has been reading The Little Red Hen at school. She had mentioned the story to me several days before. She said she had been making The Little Red Hen at school and how she had enjoyed adding feathers. I was so pleased she had shared part of her day with me. I always love when she opens up and tells me what she's been up to.

It was a busy day as always in our house at the moment and I stood in the mirror attempting to put my make up on with the twins pulling at my trouser legs to get my attention. I looked over to see what Neve was up to as I could see her hands moving around watching herself in the mirror.
She began to retell the whole story from memory using sign language as she went. My jaw hit the floor and I wanted to burst with pride. This story had really connected with her. In her own time, away from school she was happily going over the story to herself.

Rosies Walk Tuff Tray

Rosies Walk Tuff Tray

I am rather excited to be sharing such a great Tuff Tray with you today inspired by the wonderful, and much loved classic - Rosies Walk.
Rosies Walk has been a firm favourite for generations after being published originally in 1967. It was written by Pat Hutchins. She was not only an Author but an illustrator too and went on to write/illustrate around 50 books (Rosies Walk being her first). She was married to an illustrator and he would more often than not draw the pictures to stories she would lovingly write.

National Pig Week

National Pig Week

National Pig Week

National Pig Week takes place from the 1st March annually.
I have actually seen a very few clever settings tie Pig Week in with Picnic Week (which is throughout June) and combining the themes to create 'Pignic Week'. They celebrate Pignic Week sometime between March and June when they have a bout of decent weather.

Did you know that there are around 2 billion pigs in the world? They are intelligent animals and have an excellent sesnse of smell. They use their snouts to dig into the ground and sniff out food.

Just like humans, pigs are mammals and omnivores as they eat both plants and other animals.
