Recycled Halloween Decorations

This year we made some Recycled Halloween decorations.

Over the last few weeks we have been busy saving our milk bottle cartons.

Once we had collected quite a few we used a black marker pen to draw faces on the bottles.

I carefully cut out flaps on the back of the bottles, (towards the bottom) and used Christmas twinkling lights to make them light up.

I filtered the lights through each bottle putting roughly 3 LED twinkly lights in each before taping the flap shut again.

Taping the flap shut will added stability to the bottles especially when the wind was picking up. When they were taped up they didn't fall over or move, which was a relief as I pictured I would need to add stones to weigh them down.

I put these alongside my house outside in the garden. This too helped with keeping the bottles upright.
It was also easier to conceal wires which made it safer for the little ones running about too.
We did the Pumpkin carving outside this year so these were a great little feature outside.
