Websites to Support Fun and Learning

School closures are in place for some already with more schools set to close very soon. I have put together a list of sites that you may find useful to keep the children busy and learning whilst at home.

Learning and Exploring Through Play
We have a huge bank of activity ideas - arts, crafts, printables, sensory play I could go on to help see you through this time. We like to use materials that we already have in around the house so hopefully many of the things you see on our website are things you have to hand and can set up pretty quickly.

Learning and Exploring Through Play Group
Gain inspiration from fellow parents/teachers who share copious amounts of ideas daily. Share your own, ask for advice and connect with like minded people. We are also sharing daily inspiration on fun things you can do. Come and see the ideas we have already shared by clicking the link above and requesting to join the group.

Learning and Exploring Through Play on Instagram
We share lots of free and easy ideas over on Instagram, some that don't make the blog or other social platforms. Come and give us a follow and let us help you with ideas to fill your days over the coming weeks.

Family Days Tried and Tested.
Copious amounts of frugal family fun. Simple ideas that quite often leave me speechless. Deb and her family are one of my most favourite people to follow on the world wide web.

Vooks are currently offering a whole year free to educators. There are hundreds of books that have been brought to life with pictures in the stories animated! My personal favourite over there is Where the Wild Things Are.

Messy Little Monster
Covering arts, crafts and sensory ideas from babies onwards.

I can quite often get lost of Agnes website and social media channels. Her work and ideas are beautiful. She had children that are passionate about helping others and making the world a better place to be. Their dedication to make a difference is rather inspiring.
Teach Preschool
Lots of wonderful ideas for the Preschool age range. I have used many of the ideas with my own children.

Oxford Owl for Home
Free e-books for children ages between 3-11 years. There is also a handy phonics guide for parents.

Red Ted Art
The Queen of crafts is sure to have something that your children will really enjoy making. While checking out Red Ted Art be sure to look at their community library that they operate from outside their home! I love it!

Music with Nancy
Music makes the world go around. While you have some time indoors - why not learn a new song? Nancy has something for all topics. Fun, upbeat songs that have a learning message within them.

Twinkl are currently offering a months free membership. Thousands of resources to access and enjoy with the children at home. Suitable for children in Nursery to the end of Junior School.
To access your free month you need the following code - UKTWINKLHELPS

Always been a firm favourite of mine. Their play dough recipe is divine. Make sure you check it out.
Use the following details to access the site for a limited time. -
USERNAME - march20
PASSWORD - home
Lots of interactive phonics games.

Explore the world at your fingertips…. Here’s a comprehensive list of virtual tours you can take with your children, adventure all over the world from the confines of your own home. A fantastic resource to have whilst we push our way through the current pandemic. A wealth of travel, geographical and historical knowledge to incorporate into your day.

So many lovely things to inspire you here from crafts, activities to a huge range of art ideas.

Cool resource to learn about deep sea creatures
This is one of the best things I have ever seen online. It was shared in our Learning and Exploring Through Play Group a few months ago. This is a great thing to look at with children of all ages.

The Kids Should See This
A collection of awesome videos for children who have curious minds. There is something for all on here with lots of learning opportunities.

A website that has something for all. Lots of learning topics covered linking to the curriculums that are in place in school settings across the country.
National Geographic Kids
A really impressive range of material, learning more about the planet we live on and the creatures who occupy it. They have a quiz which is suitable for children on the homepage too.

Lots of free learning and activity packs available on this site. You can go on virtual field trips, meet best selling authors or simply dig deep into a topic that the children enjoy.

Topmarks is good for all ages from Preschool through to Secondary. Access interactive games and activities to help with visual learning.

Ted Ed
So many learning videos to explore here. Perhaps you can look at something new to research?

In a nutshell this site has lessons that inspire children to love science. Free memberships are available for a year.

My youngest two really enjoy the games on CBeebies. All linked to their favourite characters its a great first website to explore for Preschoolers and Infant School children - KS1.

Cbeebies Radio
Who knew that Cbeebies had their very own radio! Lots to listen to. If you have headphones pop them on and select clips you would like to hear.

Nature Detectives
I was really impressed with the resources available on this website which is a new one to me. Interactive options, checklists spotters whilst out and about. So many lovely things to enjoy doing together.

Here you can find a wide range of practical resources to use in your primary classroom. There are full lesson plans to choose from, covering different topics and themes, all organised according to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR).
We also have shorter activities, as well as ideas for using songs, poems and stories to help your learners improve their English in engaging, motivating and enjoyable ways.

I shall continue to add to this list as I find sites that are super for children.

Be sure not to miss anything from us by:

I always share things there first, and quite often some ideas don't always make the blog. So come and follow us.

We quite possibly have the best community group on Facebook. Looking for inspiration, advice? Want a place to share your ideas and activity set ups with like minded people?

See all our activities in action via our channel. We throw in a little family life too so you may just find out a little more about the family behind Learning an Exploring Through Play.

Do you live in the UK? Are you always on the look out for new, fun places to visit? We would love you to be apart of our outdoor exploring group. Come and share your own ideas or be inspired to get outdoors by others.
