Love you to Pieces Suncatcher Card

Make a super cute 'love you to pieces card' with your children for somebody special. Whether you make it for a Birthday, Valentines, a celebration/occasion or simply just because.... I'm sure it will be received well!

Did you see the beautiful heart suncatchers we made? So pretty!! It was actually the suncatchers that inspired me to do this craft with my daughter - who is always asking to make cards! I have seen the craft floating around so we decided to put our own spin on it!

You will need:
Laminator
Laminating Pouches
Card
Coloured Cellophane/Tissue Paper
Heart Template
Coloured Pens/Craft Materials of choice to decorate
Scissors
Glue
Ribbon/String

First fold your card in half and draw a heart shape in the centre. Cut the heart out. I used a large cookie cutter I have.

Open up a laminating pouch and begin to fill with lots of coloured paper - use either tissue paper or coloured cellophane if you want it to have the suncatcher effect. Once it is full, laminate.
I like to pop the warm pouch under a hard back book to help the pouch cool flat with no kinks in it.
If you don't have a laminator you could always do a cute collage for your heart instead.

I then cut out the heart shape needed to be stuck inside the card. I had to make this heart larger than the one cut out of the card so that from the front it would be completely covered over. I used a hole punch to pop a hole in the top and threaded through some lovely red ribbon.

It is totally up to you how you choose to stick the heart into the card. You can glue around the edges so it is stuck down completely and secure. OR you could add a little tape to the inside so it can be carefully removed and stuck up on the window as a suncatcher for afterwards.

We used sellotape. Hearts are great all year round and I know that Nanny (who my daughter wants to give the card to) will want to put the heart up after the card is taken down.

With the remainder of the collage we had left laminated - we used smaller cookie cutters to cut even more hears out!!

We have enjoyed making suncatchers all year round! I have to say though our heart suncatchers are my favourite! I love that they can be kept up in the window all year round and are great for all occasions.
