Snowman Hand Print Canvas Keepsake

Snowman Handprint Canvas Keepsake

One thing that I really love about this time of year is the endless crafts you can enjoy with the children. So much to do and not enough time!
Some of the most popular posts we have shared have been Keepsakes - here is another one to add to the collection. A snowman hand print canvas that has been inspired by our Salt Dough Snowmen!

It was a wet and miserable day outside and unlike our usual mindset when the weather is like this (get out with the wellies) - we stayed in and crafted!

We began by painting the canvas, leaving a layer of snow piled up on the ground. That would be the base to rest our hand print on. We needed to wait until the canvas was completely dry before moving on to the next step.

Neve has always loved painting her hands! She giggles profusely as she does so. A great sensory sensation. She places her hand print down on the canvas and before she pulled it off she made sure she pressed her fingers down to make sure all parts of her hand had made contact with the canvas.

We needed to wait for the hand print to dry before we used pens to draw the features of the snowmen on. I popped them upright on the radiator. They dried super quick!

Adding the features and accessories to the snowmen was so much fun to do! We even played some Christmas music in the background. The pens we used didn't smudge at all. This was great as Neve kept placing her hand over the snowman she had just drawn as she started drawing the next. Thankfully no smudges and no transfers over onto her hands!

Lets take a look at the Snowman Canvas in Action:
