Poppy Stained Glass Art Remembrance Day
We made such a lovely poppy window display together. With Remembrance Day coming round quickly and the children seeing poppies as they walk around in shops and on people’s cars and clothing I like to do activities that will open up conversations as we create and make together. I shared this lovely craft over on Instagram last night....
We made some lovely nature confetti wands that I want to share with you today. With cardboard in abundance at the moment I really like to reuse as much of it as possible and it's great to be able to use some of it for crafting with the children.
I cut out 4 stars using my Cricut machine and after a walk at Dudmaston National Trust recently we collected some leaves and sticks. You may have seen this outing as I shared it over on Instagram. The children enjoyed throwing the leaves around and I got some lovely slow motion videos of them playing.

Firework Salt Painting
It's not long till Bonfire Night and many of us are turning to Bonfire Night topics now. The children will soon be seeing fireworks lighting up the night sky. They will hear them soaring up high and they will hear the crashing and banging noises they make.
We did a lovely activity recently that I am here to share with you today - Salt Painted Fireworks! Make sure you're following us on Instagram as I always do the step by steps over there on my stories. Instagram is the place I share my activities first.
It's currently half term for us and with so much change on the cards I wanted to have lots of Autumn fun with the children during this break. I booked a National Trust and with a back pack full of potential activities we set out for a day surrounded by the beautiful colours of Autumn. After our picnic we started making our Nature Collage Boards just before we started our Autumn walk trail.
We are loving art right now! We have been recently experimenting with watercolours, paper towel art and Filter Paper Art.

Halloween Magic Paper Towel Art Science
With Halloween just a couple of weeks away I am looking to do some fun, frugal activities with the children. As we really enjoyed doing a version of the magic paper towel art during the Spring I thought it would be fun to redo with a Halloween theme!
With Autumn in full swing we have now started our Autumn crafting and I just love it! This is my favourite time of year! Over the last few days we have been making the most beautiful watercolour pumpkins using our Paint Sticks - recycling some cardboard that I always keep aside from deliveries.
Autumn has landed and I am so happy to see all the beautiful Autumn colours! The walks with the children are lots of fun as they keep discovering lots of lovely nature finds all over the woodland floor! We collected lots of the acorn fairy hats to craft with. Last year we made an amazing autumn tree canvas using the acorn tops this year we made this lovely Autumn Fairy Hat Wreath.

Magnetic Wands and Chips Sensory Play
Over the weekend I set up an invitation to play that involved magnets. I had wanted a set of wands and chips for a long time and now we stock them in the shop I've managed to get my hands on a set for us and they're brilliant!
No matter what time of year noticing the flowers blooming around us is great fun. Noticing the shades, the size the scents they give off. Paying attention to which wildlife are attracted to them provides many learning opportunities.
Today I am going to share a really lovely craft where we created some beautiful flowers using an egg carton! Who would have thought that an egg carton would create the most beautiful flowers?
In addition to play another thing that we love doing as a family is exploring the great outdoors. As this is another passion of ours I decided to set up an Instagram account solely for the purpose of sharing great places to visit. I have shared quite a few places on here in the past and I wanted to start up this series again as my camera roll is always full of lots of images and videos.
Today I want to share with you a recent visit that we had to - Ynys Y Pandy Slate Mill and Lake
I set about making a batch of rainbow rice and used our black tray to spread out the small amounts I made up. Once the rice was all placed out like that it reminded me right away of Elmer the patchwork elephant. It's a story we have been enjoying through the day as my daughter has the collection of stories. We got the collection for £10 in a local school book fair. 10 books for £10!
Today I want to share with you a beautiful craft that we did making butterfly sun catchers using petals! As flowers have been on the turn in the garden I have been regularly de-heading plants which has encouraged lots of new growth. It stops the energy from going into stems that are dying off and instead that energy goes into the new shoots and stems.
As many of the petals are still pretty beautiful I like to use them in crafts and activities before they head to the gardening recycle bin.
Today I am going to share with you an abstract art idea that we took out with us to do after a picnic this week. I always keep a stash of cardboard handy as there is so many things that you can make and create with it. Using just a few strips of tape we all created a lovely piece of artwork that was super fun to make!
Going out walking has been what's kept us going over the last 3 months with lockdown being enforced. Yesterday we ventured out together and I can't express how much I needed that time out to recharge for the week ahead. Whilst out yesterday I packed a bag with a couple of activities for the children to do whilst they were out in the woods. Usually we would create at home and take things with us already made but it was a game changer taking our crafting outdoors in the woods for a change.

DIY Cardboard Space Rocket
With 3 Space fascinated children I created a rocket for them to launch off into space, complete with twinkling stars. My daughter has always had a space fascination. After some bedtime stories the boys have also started to ask questions and show a real interest for the topic space. I love when the children show what they're interested in and I always love to support their interests.
