Did you see the beautiful heart suncatchers we made? So pretty!! It was actually the suncatchers that inspired me to do this craft with my daughter - who is always asking to make cards! I have seen the craft floating around so we decided to put our own spin on it!

I adore bright colours and the bold illustrations drew me in from the very beginning. They say not to judge a book by it's cover, but sometimes we are stopped in our tracks. The vibrant colours and intriguing title made me want to take a closer look. 

Today we have been making rainbow sun catchers. We have really enjoyed spotting the rainbows out and about in our local area as of late. The children can’t get enough of them and keep asking to make more of them. I’m not complaining as they are so delightful.

I have the most delightful Autumn craft to share with you today. Suitable from the youngest age these beautiful Autumn sun catchers will not only bring beautiful Autumn colours inside but it is solely all about the process!

Pumpkin crafts and activities are well underway in my household now. Its been pouring of rain here in the UK and although that never stops us, I had to stay in for some parcels being delivered today so the art and crafts came out.

We have been in our element collecting Nature items over the last few weeks. Conkers, Pine Cones, Acorns and Fairy Hats! So many lovely Nature Treasures! Today we Neve got crafty with the fairy hats and created the most beautiful Fairy Hat Autumn Tree Canvas Craft.

March is National Reading Month. This makes it the perfect opportunity to have reading more of a focus in your homes and settings. Reading is lots of fun and takes children off into the world of their imagination. It gives them ideas, introduces them to new places, new people, new words. Lots of learning takes place and not only that it's a great activity for bonding. Whether you are snuggling down together for a bedtime story after a busy day or having your child climb upon your lap to read their favourite tale - its a time that brings you together. 

National Reading Month has been running since 2010. Lots of schools and settings celebrate World Book Day during this month too. Lots of children and adults dress up as characters from their favourite stories! What are your children dressing up as this year? 

As part of National Reading Month we have teamed up with a brilliant collection of other websites and childcare settings to show you how you can take your children's favourite books and use them to inspire playtime. Each day there will be a new book with a fabulous craft, activity or small world linking to it.

We have the wonderful Sue Baxter joining us today sharing another fabulous Learning Through Play set up. Sue is a childminder, rated outstanding by Ofsted and its easy to see why. We have already been lucky enough to see activities she has shared with the children for Duck Week, Easter, Pancake Day, St Davids Day, Spring and we have more coming! 

Today Sue is sharing with us a Bird Themed Tuff Tray her children have enjoyed playing with. A bird topic is an evergreen topic to cover with the children. Throughout the year birds need our help and through these trays and activities we can teach children all about the birds we see out and about and discuss ways we can help them - for example making homemade bird feeders, recycling and making your own feeding stations, providing bird houses for birds to nest with their eggs. 

Rainbow Streamers make beautiful decorations for parties and celebrations. They are also fabulous for the children to take outdoors and look on as the streamers dance around in the wind.

They tie in brilliantly for weather topics and also for St. Patrick's Day!
