Little Scribblers World Busy Bags

Little Scribblers World Busy Bags

Today I want to share with you a company who make busy bags. Bags that are full of fun activities for children to help develop various areas of learning. They are compact, so suitable to carry around and can be used for an activity at home, eating out, visiting family - just about anywhere.

Children can have short attention spans. They are always seeking to learn, explore and make sense of whats around them. Whether you are looking for something to entertain your child, teach and develop specific skills or bring about a calm few minutes, these packs are a fantastic go to resource.

With the hard work done for you, you can use them the minute they land through the door!

Today I am sharing with you - Little Scribblers World.

Peppas Secret Suprize

Peppas Secret Suprize

It would be frightening if I found out how many Peppa Pig episodes are on in my household in a week. My boys are obsessed with Peppa right now. I feel likes its always on in the background and I've even sat watching them (often in a daze from the day I've just had) after the children have gone to bed.

A quick google search showed me that there have been 254 episodes created of Peppa Pig to date. This leads me to wonder why we only ever see the same few on repeat on Nick Jr Peppa? The Bike Ride, Pedro Losing his Glasses, Secret Club, Peace and Harmony, Black Berry Bush, Bing Bong Boo, GeeGee Leaving, School Roof, Garden Gnomes, Lucky Puddle Jumping Boots - HA! I could go on....

Out of all the children's program out there - Peppa is one I don't mind being on.

Anyhow the purpose of me posting today is to share a cheeky reveal with you.
We were contacted by Character Toys and asked to do a big reveal of a very exciting new toy that Peppa Pig fans are going to LOVE.

Learning and Exploring Through Play

Peppa's Secret Suprize - Series 1, Party.

How many hours have your children sat with the ipad/phone in their hand watching blind bags being opened? The amount of times I have taken Neve to a toy shop for a special treat and all she has wanted has been blind bags and eggs!

The once we took her to Toys R Us (still not over the fact that these have gone now by the way). with the intention to buy her her first bike. She wasn't interested at all and instead selected a 99p Frozen kite, which by the way was brilliant - 2 blind eggs and 2 blind bags. She was over the moon!

Learning and Exploring Through Play

So when we had the opportunity to take a closer look at this new toy - we jumped at the opportunity. Here is how we got on:

Each box has six hidden draws. The draws house five secret blind bags, fun stickers and an exclusive figure from the series in glittery party outfits. Children will be able to hunt for Peppa, George, Suzie, Rebecca and Zoe.

Series one is launching in December in the UK with a yellow suprize box and a party theme. This will be swiftly followed by a new series in 2019 which will feature different coloured boxes, a brand new theme of figures and accessories to collect.

Neve absolutely loved this toy. Blind Bags still remain a firm favourite of hers and having so many to open and discover in each set was great! Shes already asked if she can do some more.

Each set will retail at a RRP of £9.99. You can see more by checking out - Character Toys.

We were sent the two boxes as seen above in order for us to be able to conduct the big reveal. All thoughts and opinions are 100% our own.

Tonka Trucks Cement Mixer

Tonka Trucks Cement Mixer

Over the last few months, the twins have been crazy on anything on wheels. Helicopters, cars, trains and not forgetting their favourite - tractors. They all tick boxes for them and they spend hours and hours playing with them.

I was over the moon when we were asked to review a truck from Tonka Toys. A brand based in America and founded in 1945. This isn't the first item I have owned by Tonka Toys and I was very pleased to see that the Cement Mixer that is the focus of today's review continues to be of fabulous quality, with lots of attentions to detail.

Why Kids Need Their Cousins

Why Kids Need Their Cousins

Cousins can play such a vital role in a child's life. Cousins are often our first friends. The people we grow up with. The children we gather with on Birthdays and Christmas', year after year.

The memory bank between cousins can be plentiful if parents spend time helping to nurture these special family ties by bringing their children and their cousins together outside of the usual annual gatherings.

It is at this point that cousins can get to know one another truly. A time where their bonds can grow and blossom. The more time they spend together the more special their relationships will become, and in later years their bond will hold a very important place in their hearts.

Spider Sensory Oobleck

Spider Sensory Oobleck

The activity I am sharing with you today, happened completely out of the blue. I'd put the twins to bed, Neve had just come downstairs after writing letters to all her best friends at school. We stood in the kitchen having a chat and BAM this idea popped into my mind and as always Neve couldn't wait to get stuck in.

Today's activity is all about Sensory Oobleck. Oh and spiders! Perfect to tie into Nursery Rhymes, Stories, an interest in spiders in general or like we did today - for Halloween.

Keep scrolling to see how the activity unfolded, and for the recipe so you can have a go at doing this activity yourself.

Why you Should Encourage your Children to Play Outside

Why you Should Encourage your Children to Play Outside

Why you Should Encourage your Children to Play Outside

People often talk about the rate at which technology has evolved throughout the last 30 years, and there’s genuinely good reason for this. However, not enough focus in placed on the impact that such evolution has had on certain aspects of society, particularly the way in which children spend their leisure time.

Nature Weaving

Nature Weaving - Forest School

Just before Autumn arrives we have been enjoying some Nature threading. After our Sticky Tape Nature Pictures, we have been inspired to stay on track with more Nature activities. There is still lots of beautiful blooms and foliage everywhere! It's hard to believe that before long lots of this will disappear, as plants and trees go to sleep for the cooler months.

Before I go on to share how this activity unfolded I just wanted to share this:

I am a huge believer in leaving plants and bushes to grow for the bugs and bees. Some plants thrive when you cut weaker/dying blooms. Sometimes bushes have to be cut back to keep things neat and its at this time where this activity is a perfect one to do. I wouldn't ever actively encourage anyone let along children so go hacking plants and bushes down for crafts.
Make sure you explain this to the children too. Teach them to respect the outdoors from a young age.

Mouse Paint Colour Mixing

Mouse Paint Colour Mixing

I love having lots of little activities that can be pulled together quickly. There are opportunities that arise during the day where you can do something to bring all the children together (like our Fruit Sensory Bin) or enjoy a little one on one time with them (like this activity).

From the early days we teach children colour recognition. We give them the freedom to mix colours here and there - but then what?

Today I want to share with you a lovely activity (and story) to build on knowledge of colours.

My Role as an Educator Poster

My Role as an Educator Poster

Coming to work with and teach children can be a long process. Some of us dedicate years of our lives training to be the best we can be. It's a profession you go into with the drive and ambition to make a difference. You alone will impact a child's life and if you're great at what you do the impression that you leave on a child will never leave them.

The Lorax Dr Seuss Craft

The Lorax Dr Seuss Craft

Children can learn so much from books making them essential as part of their childhood. As Dr. Seuss said himself - The more you read the more things you'll know. The more you learn the more places you'll go. I try and include them in our play as much as I can. We also use them often to inspire our crafts and activities. I dont share ever set up we do on the blog but I do share them all on Instagram. Today's inspiration comes from The Lorax!
We love anything by Dr Seuss. It's not the first time we have been inspired by his work. We have created Cat in the Hat Puppets and Grinch Wood Slice Decorations.

This craft comes with a Free Downloadable Printable that can be found at the bottom of the page.
